John Deere Plans To Move Plant in Iowa to Mexico? The Corn & Ethanol Report 06/10/2022
We kickoff the day with Core Inflation Rate MoM & YoY and Inflation Rate MoM & YoY at 7:30 A.M., Michigan Consumer Sentiment Prel (Jun), Michigan 5-Year Inflation Expectations Prel (Jun), Michigan Consumer Expectations Prel (Jun), Michigan Current Conditions Prel (Jun) and Michigan Inflation Expectations Prel (Jun) at 9:00 A.M., Crop Production USDA Supply/Demand and WASDE Data at 11:00 A.M., Baker Hughes Oil & Total Rig Count at 12:00 P.M. and Monthly Budget Statement at 1:00 P.M.
On the Corn Front we have bad news which is the sign of the times in this administration. John Deere is moving an Assembly Plant from Iowa to Mexico. Inflation and taxation is disrupting this once strong booming economy with a stroke of a pen. Today’s Big-3 reports may not be a complete gamechanger because we have Grain Stocks and Planted Acreage at month’s end. The corn futures settled mixed in yesterday’s action. The spot month was higher due to strong domestic basis and end users scrambling for ownership. This will make the acreage number all that more important June 30th at 11:00 A.M. In the overnight electronic session the July corn is currently trading at 772 which is 1 cent lower. The trading range has been 744 to 766 ½.
On the Ethanol Front just another reason corn is on the move with E15 blends coming to a pump near you very soon. Wednesday President Biden nominated Doug McKalip to serve as chief negotiator in the
Office of US Trade Representative (USTR) The USDA, USTR and the USGC have spoken out support of his nomination. There was zero activity in ethanol futures with contracts showing a settlement price of 216. We have an obviously busy cash market.
Have A Great Trading Day!
